Wig Application

Products:
· Hairspray

Equipment:
· Grips
· Hair brush
· Pintail comb
· Wig cap/tights with legs cut off
· Hair bands
· Wig/s

Technique:
· Split the hair into a centre parting.

· Start to French plait one side – starting from the very front of the hairline.

· Make sure the plait is around by the ear so you will be able to anchor the wig with pins.

· Plait the hair till the end and tie with a hair band.

· Repeat on the other side.

· Bring the bottom of each plait to the other side of the head around the hairline, the grip into place securely.

· Use the hairspray and pintail comb to scrape back any loose hairs – ask the model to shut their eyes when spraying hairspray.

· Put the wig cap on the models head – ask your model to do ‘bunny ears’ to help get it over their hair.

· Secure the cap with grips – using the plaits as anchor points.

· Attach the wig on top using the same technique and secure near the sideburns.

We did this application to see how by changing the colour and style of somebody’s hair can completely change their skin tone and appearance.
